Because they actually cut the tissue and thus hurt more. Acupuncture needles have a conic tip so they just push away most of the tissue and there is hardly any damage apart from puncturing the skin. If the acupuncture needles are coated with silicone chances are high that you don’t feel the needle being pushed through the skin at all, even without anaesthesia, hypnotic or otherwise. Using acupuncture needles would be very poor proof of anaesthesia indeed.

you guys should never try this at home, i was using techniques to get my brother into a trance, and i gradually shoved a metal pin in his fore arm. he didnt feel the pain, but when he opened his eyes, he was so shocked that he got out of the trance and started screaming

This is excellent stuff for me to see. I have suffered chronic and sometimes servere anxiety and panic attacks all my life, now in my 30s and still dealing with it (guess I always will I recently and FINALLY had a psychologist help me to get blood taken out of my arm, trust me it was a huge thing for me to do. I am now looking into hypnosis so I can learn to CALM myself down in all areas, this way I can deal with any sensations and except them.
The mind is very powerful yet so unknown!

  13. xstevexxx Says:

the technique was quite simple and involved taking ourselves into self-hypnosis and giving ourselves various suggestions that would lead us to not feeling any pain when the needle was inserted and to aid healing after. i can say from my own experience that it worked!

There seems to be very few nerve endings it that area of the arm, I can pinch there and feel very little pain. Had this been done on the back of the upper arm, the tricep, it would be much more impressive.

Even though they are just poking through the skin, it is still pretty phenomenal.

  20. sl8734 Says:

There just has to be a way of mentally controlling pain, cuz you get pain all the time from eating hot pepper, bedning your back and have some back strain etc etc…

  21. sl8734 Says:

I will perfect and experiment my technique a little bit more after some more research and share it with everyone in the future, hopefully one day we can create a way to treat chronic pain. great job everyone in the video by the way!

  22. sl8734 Says:

im currently experimenting with a form of pain control that is based on the same technique as anxiety control after some studies on anxiety I realized that as long as I got rid of the anxiety that i associated with pain , it doesnt bother me at all,and my technique is to convince myself that no harm is done to me so I can fully relax,i felt pain but it didnt bother me at all,

  25. HypnoBloke Says:

Would just like to add - at no stage is it being claimed here that these things cannot be done without self-hypnosis. The notion is simply being advocated that when you apply your mind correctly (be it with self-hypnosis or any other similar tool) it makes it easier to achieve more than you might have thought you could. That was the context it was given in the course. We were under no illusion that this was the only way of doing this.
